Drugstore Haul & Review !

A few weeks ago I went into Superdrug just to purchase one item, came out with a whole lot more than I intended, we’ve all been there!
After using the products that I had bought I have decided to review them all.

Sleek i-Divine Showstopper Palette (Limited Edition) – £7.99

First of all I saw this limited edition Sleek eyeshadow palette and I just had to get my hands on it, personally I do not use eye shadows, other than on occassions but Sleek palettes are known for their highly pigmented eyeshadows and blushes and it’s limited edition (available online). This palette for me works very well as it has a range of colours, including matte and shimmer shades. The colours range from shades that can be used for a smokey eye on a night out, as well as light and vibrant summery day time look.

Maybelline – The Colossal Volume Express BLACK – £7.19

This mascara is not waterproof however waterproof versions are available. The application is buildable, however when it has dried a new coat does not make a difference. I think this mascara provides volume as well as length to the lashes when applied, it separates the lashes beautifully and does not make them clumpy. A few coats (about 3) are needed to achieve satisfying results, as well as this after a long day it sort of makes your lashes droop and loose the ‘volume’ which sort of defeats the concept.

Loreal Superliner Perfect Slim Black Intense – £6.99

I LOVE THIS ! The pen application makes it so easy to apply and this colour is literally an intense black. The application is smooth and flawless, it has a very thin tip, which makes it perfect for sharp flicks. I would recommend using this to achieve a cat eye. When you make a mistake and remove the liner it does not leave a black eye and wipes away completely. It also dries very quickly so it’s good for when you’re on the go.

De-stressing Aloe Vera Mud Mask – £2.59

Aloe Vera has many benefits it acts as moisturiser, treats acne and fights ageing. This mud mask is extremely inexpensive and there is a huge range available at superdrug. I find that the little sachets are quite pointless as you can only use them once, so I bought this. This is for combination skin but other masks suited to different skin types are also available. The mask hardens after a good 10 minutes or so, it can be removed with a wet towel. It leaves my face feeling soft, radiant and fresh. It’s perfect for a relaxed night in or just a little pampering session.

Maybelline Colour Sensational Velvet Beige- £6.99

This lipstick has a slightly sheer finish, the colour is a pinky nude and the application process is a dream. It is very pigmented and looks good with just about any outfit. The lipstick itself is not drying, I would recommend using a lip scrub, lip balm, then using a primer or even foundation as a base before applying the lipstick, remember to line your lips it makes a HUGE difference.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream – £7.99

I bought this just to try out a BB Cream because it’s been praised by many beauty bloggers and people just seem to be obsessed. This BB cream only comes in two shades, light and medium, which gives you very little room for choice. There are so many BB creams that are available from drugstore to high-end products, so I made an informed decision when purchasing this as I just wanted to try it out.

It claims to be an 8 in 1 product:

-Creates a natural glow:
I think this is a very matte cream, it does not give a dewy finish, so there is no glow added to the face.

– Compliments skin-tone.
There are only two shades so it may not compliment everyone’s skin tone, but the medium shade does match to my skin tone.

– SPF 30
This is great as you always need protection from the sun, it is SO important. An SPF in a lightweight BB cream is a must have for summer, personally I don’t like feeling cakey in hot weather with a lot of foundation, so a BB cream with SPF is good substitute.

– Hydrates all day.
I have combination skin and this product does not make my face feel dry, it can be used with or without moisturiser.

– Blurs Imperfections.
It works like a light coverage foundation so it does hide blemishes and other imperfections.

– Oil free, non-greasy
This is true as it has a very matte finish which I prefer over a dewy finish. It does not make the face appear shiny.

– Looks visibly smooth
It does make the face appear smoother and more even, exactly like a foundation except this looks a lot more natural.

– Feels fresh
It does feel fresh in comparison to a foundation, the application is like that of a moisturiser so it is very useful if you’re on the go. This product is similar to a tinted moisturiser but it is a lot more beneficial.

Sleek Blush by 3 Lace Palette – £9.99

I love this palette ! It has three powder blushes Crochet (matte orange), Guipure (shimmery rosy pink) and Chantilly (matte red-toned coral). I think buying the palettes from sleek are a lot better, price wise, than buying individual blushes and this palette is VERY inexpensive. The pigmentation is very good for Crochet and Chantilly, however I think more product is needed to achieve a similar outcome with Guipure. These are perfect shades for the summer, bright, vibrant and glowing. I would recommend this product to everyone you won’t be disappointed !
