Camomile Goodness

Hi everyone hope you’re all well and enjoying the summer. I went to Birmingham recently for the day, of course I went on a shopping trip to the Bullring. Personally I find the shopping centre so confusing, why is the bottom only connected? Anyway I bought a few bits and bobs from there, also I happened to meet the youtuber saimasmileslike *fangirl moment*.

I went to The Body Shop and there were so many good offers, I became awestruck. I wanted to make this post ASAP so you all are aware of the new things I discovered.

– A 3 for 2 offer on all the skincare range
– A marked percentage off all of the body care goodies
– A ‘love your body’ card, which I can’t believe I just discovered. This card gives you 10% off every purchase, includes membership goodies as well as events.

I purchased this Camomile Cleansing Oil and Camomile Eye Make Up Remover. I have wanted to purchase this Cleansing Oil for a while now, I came across the cute little packages The Body Shop do, I bought one of them which included a religious amount of Camomile Eye Make Up Remover as well as the Cleansing Oil yey! The package is £13 it cost me £11.70 because I got my hands on the love your body card.

Camomile Cleansing Oil – £10

The oil smells amazing, usually I’m not very fond of fragranced face products, because I just think unnecessary CHEMICALS! This however leaves a light floral fresh scent. The oil is quite runny and not at all thick which I thought it may be, which means it doesn’t feel heavy and greasy on the skin. I massaged it onto dry skin (with make up on) and just saw it work wonders, once you start massaging it, you can see all of your make up come off. I then used a wet cotton pad and wiped away the oil, all of the make up comes off with it. The oil spreads waterproof eyeliner everywhere, I’m not a fan of looking like I have panda eyes, however it does remove everything without any residue so it’s not a problem. The oil doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy, it does not look shiny once removed and gives a light moisturised look.

Rating: 9/10

Camomile Gentle Eye Make up Remover – £8

Truthfully I don’t see the entire camomile theme to this eye make up remover, it seems exactly the same as the ordinary Body Shop make up remover. It does not really have a fragrance, of camomile anyway. It works fairly well as in removing eye make up. However I think you need to work with a large amount of product. I find that when taking off waterproof mascara it doesn’t work very well. I have even tried it the morning after a lazy night of not removing my eye makeup properly, it takes of all of the residue and makes the eye area look bright. I felt that this left a very dry feeling to my eyes, I had to thoroughly moisturise the area afterwards. This claims to be suitable for sensitive eyes and contact wearers, however when I tried this wearing contacts my eyes started to sting and became red. I would suggest removing your contacts before using this. I would not recommend buying this product as I don’t believe it is gentle enough for the eyes, it has been causing me problems so I’ve completely stopped using it. I would recommend using the oil to remove eye make up including waterproof mascara, it’s gentle and quick and easy.
