Dior Star Foundation – Review

Hi everyone ! I purchased the New Dior Star foundation recently, we all know how luxurious Dior products are, so I had high hopes for this new foundation !

Packaging

The packaging like all Dior products is sleek and sophisticated, as you can all see from the image, it has CD ontop of the lid and a silver band with ‘DiorSkin’ engraved between the lid and the actual foundation.

The bottle is very shiny and reflective, it’s one you don’t want to leave your fingerprints on to ruin it. It has a pump which I think is so useful for a foundation, as I own Mac Studio Fix which doesn’t have a pump and it’s super annoying !

Dior Description:

A weightless fluid capable of recreating the spectacular and perfecting light of Dior’s studios.

– The complexion is instantly more luminous and visibly evener.
A new generation of hollow silica beads captures and diffuses light in a correcting halo with no shine. At the same time, colour-filter pigments neutralize colour imbalances to recreate the perfect light.
– The complexion is clarified with a purer, more dazzling and long-lasting light.
Anti-“”light-trap”” skincare ingredients help reduce the appearance of dark areas, pigment spots and redness.
Main points:

– Light/Medium Coverage
– Yellow undertone
– SPF 30
– Semi-Matte Finish
– Lightweight
– Natural look
– Non-Cakey
– Suitable for all skin types

I instantly fell in love with this foundation, it is weightless as Dior claims and looks very natural on the skin. This foundation is light to medium coverage, it is buildable and best applied with a beauty blender/real technique miracle complexion sponge. You can also purchase the backstage blender from Dior for this foundation.

Dior has this cool new machine that electronically matches your skin tone to the foundation, it’s so cool ! I was matched to the shade 040 Honey Beige and I am NC41 in Mac.

I usually wear BB cream on a day to day basis, however I do wear foundation on events. I feel that this foundation is amazing for day to day, some foundations look cakey or the consistency is too thick for everyday use. This foundation however looks very natural on the skin, it evens out the skin tone and brightens the face. This is a great substitute for BB cream, it has light to medium coverage. I feel as though I can’t do this foundation enough justice with this review as it is so amazing, everyone should get hold of a sample and see it for yourself ! I would suggest purchasing the Dior Forever for a medium-full coverage as this is more for perfecting the skin with a light coverage.

This foundation has a semi-matte finish which I love, I tend to be a person that prefers matte foundations as I dislike a dewy finish. I have been looking for a foundation that doesn’t make me look completely matte and lifeless, as well as something that is not super dewy. This is perfect and does a great job ! It has a yellow undertone which is great for Asian skin, as well as this I believe that it is suitable for both people with dry and oily skin. As the finish is not completely matte it works for people with dry skin, and for oily skin it doesn’t leave you looking greasy !

Being a person that is busy means that sometimes I don’t have time for touch ups during the day. This foundation lasted me the entire day with no touch ups during the day, when I wore it I did not powder my face as I loved the finish, it stayed as flawless as it was when I first applied it! Some foundations start to oxidise and make the face look grey and dull by the end of the day, this however stays as flawless and brightening all day !
