Here are some tips on the best way to style a patterned skirt.

Wearing a plain top makes your skirt the centre of attention. You can wear a plain and simple top and keep the rest of your outfit minimal. This is how I tend to wear my skirts.
2. Solid colour
If you have a skirt with a lot going on the best thing to do is to opt for a solid colour for your top. You don’t want it to look like there’s too much happening. As you can see here I have paired mine with a white top. Just because its one colour doesn’t mean it is boring. My top has flared sleeves.
3. Mix tight with loose
If you’re wearing a pencil skirt you can go for an oversized jumper or a loose blouse. This helps to balance out your outfit, don’t get me wrong though tight tops also look great too.
The skirt that I’m wearing is cinched at the waist. When you have a skirt like this you can play around with the top because you still have that definition at your waist.
In other words, you want to look effortless even though you’ve put a lot of thought into your outfit.
4. Footwear
When you’re wearing a patterned skirt, pick a colour from the skirt for your footwear. Strappy heels elongate your legs and are perfect for summer. I went for these metallic heels for my look. If you’re unsure black always works!
You can also go for a more casual look with some patterned skirts and wear them with trainers, plain white ones always look great.
5. Tuck in
I know this seems obvious but if you’re wearing a patterned skirt you want it to stand out. Make sure to tuck in your top or you could wear a crop top. This also helps accentuate your waist!
So lovely! 🙂
